Why Are We Different?
Unlike a travel agency or vacation planner, we travel with you each step of the way. We arrange all logistics in advance, and are there to solve any unexpected challenges. We are your traveling concierge, allowing you to simply enjoy the experience.
Recent events have introduced additional requirements in international travel that necessitate close attention to detail. As veterans of numerous international trips, including in the COVID era, we guide you through every prerequisite for entry into and travel around Greece, and return to the United States. Governmental travel requirements can and do change frequently, so we monitor them to ensure that you have every necessary document.

Why would we arrive in Athens the day before the charter?
Two reasons. First, arrival on August 19 decreases significantly the chance of a flight delay or cancellation causing you to miss the departure of the yacht on August 20 and, as a result, losing one or more sailing days and incurring complicated and expensive transport to catch up. Second, spending the afternoon and evening of August 19 and the morning and afternoon of August 20 in Athens will allow you to, if you wish, see the unique historical sights of Athens, such as the Acropolis, Hadrian’s Arch, Plaka Neighborhood, the Roman Agora and Hadrian’s Library, Temple of Zeus, changing of the guard at Syntagma Square, and various churches and museums. Our hotel is within easy walking distance of the key sights. A welcome dinner on August 19 is included, and will be a prime opportunity to meet your fellow voyagers. We board the yacht at around 5:30 pm on August 20.
When would we travel back to the U.S.?
We will arrive back in Athens on August 26, have our last dinner ashore, and spend the night aboard the yacht. We will disembark by 9:00 am on August 27, so you can book your return flight for that day. Alternatively, you can either add one or more nights at a
hotel in Athens or travel elsewhere before returning to the U.S. We will gladly help you with those arrangements if you wish.
What is a day during the charter?
We spend each night in a marina (or, if necessary, at a nearby anchorage with transport to shore), allowing you to stroll around town for coffee and breakfast. Of course, you are welcome to stay on board until we sail. Each day includes several hours at sea (sometimes under sail, sometimes under engine power depending on wind and how much distance we want to cover), usually with a stop for lunch at a scenic cove where those who want to swim can do so. While at sea, take in the views, chat with your companions, sunbathe, read, spot dolphins, enjoy drinks and snacks, be regaled by your skipper’s stories, and experience the voyage as you wish – this is your voyage. The daily schedule can vary depending on when our skipper indicates we need to arrive at our next marina. Often, there are opportunities ashore for hikes, excursions to local sights, exploring the town and ancient Greek history, biking, etc. We will help arrange the opportunities that interest you most.
Our skipper knows the best restaurants, and we will dine on wonderful local cuisine. If you prefer to have one or more of your dinners with just your companion or family instead of the entire group, we are happy to arrange that.
Dress throughout is casual. For dinner, sundresses for women and nice shirts and linen shorts or pants for men would be perfectly suitable. (We will provide a suggested packing list.)
Do I need any sailing skills?
No. Other than perhaps a couple folks helping hold a rope when docking, the skipper handles everything. However, if you are interested in being involved with the sailing, you are more than welcome to do so.
Describe the catamaran accommodations
We sail on catamarans because they provide far more comfort and space than monohull sailboats. We will be on board 45-foot Lagoon 45 catamarans, built recently. Each air conditioned yacht has four cabins. Each pair of travelers is provided a private cabin with an en-suite bathroom with shower. On our previous voyages, we were aboard smaller 39- foot and 40-foot Lagoon catamarans, and found them to be amply comfortable. The significantly larger Lagoon 45 will provide noticeably more space and comfort. Still, please know that space is at a premium. You will want to limit your baggage, and will not need multiple suitcases of clothes. The catamaran has a main indoor salon with seating and galley. Outdoor space includes a rear covered seating area, a seating area at the helm on the flybridge, a sunpad forward of the helm, and a large “trampoline” in the front with sunken seating just aft of it that also is a wonderful place to spend time. Each Lagoon is unique, but the video at the following link will give you a good tour of this model: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWW7dPhjSng.
While the yacht does offer multiple living spaces, when on board you will be in relatively close quarters with your yacht-mates. Travelers enjoy getting to know others with similar interests. Alternatively, a group comprised of those who already are friends works extremely well also.
